ICCD and CrescentRating Partner to Set the Global Standard in Muslim-Friendly Service Excellence

Mar 2026

In a move set to elevate overall Muslim-friendly experiences across different touchpoints and redefine the landscape of global Islamic tourism, the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) and CrescentRating have officially entered into a two-year Cooperation Agreement. This partnership aims to foster sustainable and inclusive tourism ecosystems across the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Benchmarking Excellence: The OTII 2026

At the heart of this collaboration is the development of the Annual OIC Tourism Impact Index (OTII) 2026. This initiative is designed to benchmark and accelerate the transformation of OIC destinations using the RIDA framework, which focuses on Responsible, Immersive, Digital, and Assured tourism.

Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building

The agreement establishes CrescentRating as a "Knowledge Partner" for ICCD events. This role involves designing workshop agendas and training modules, delivering keynote presentations, and sharing research-backed recommendations tailored to the specific needs of OIC Member States.

Furthermore, the parties will jointly host thematic workshops and international webinars. These sessions will target policymakers and industry leaders, covering critical topics such as:

  • Digital Solutions for Pilgrim and Traveler Experience

  • Sustainability and Responsible Tourism in OIC Destinations

  • Muslim Women and Inclusive Travel Policies

A Vision for Integrated Growth

Ultimately, this agreement represents a shared commitment to a unified vision of sustainable and inclusive tourism growth. By merging the diplomatic reach and institutional credibility of the ICCD with the specialized data insights and global authority of CrescentRating, the alliance aims to create a powerful engine for economic integration within the OIC.

Through tools like the OTII 2026 and targeted capacity-building workshops, the parties aim to equip Member States with the actionable data and best practices necessary to compete on a global stage. This collaborative framework ensures that as the Muslim-friendly travel sector evolves, it remains grounded in responsibility and digital innovation, providing a clear roadmap for OIC destinations to become world-class tourism hubs.
