CrescentRating has been elected to serve on the Board of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) for the 2026–2028 term, beginning in May 2026 and concluding in April 2028. The appointment reflects growing industry recognition of CrescentRating’s role in advancing inclusive, research-driven tourism development across global markets.
This election places CrescentRating among a group of industry leaders entrusted with guiding PATA’s strategic direction at a time when the Asia Pacific travel sector continues to evolve in response to shifting traveler expectations, sustainability priorities, and emerging growth segments.
The PATA Board has been providing governance oversight and strategic guidance for one of the region’s most established tourism associations since 1951. Board members contribute to shaping long-term priorities related to responsible tourism growth, destination resilience, industry collaboration, and innovation across the Asia Pacific.
Election to the Board reflects confidence and responsibility. Members are expected to bring informed perspectives that support PATA’s mission of building a more meaningful and sustainable tourism economy, while representing the interests of a diverse and interconnected travel ecosystem.
CrescentRating’s election to the PATA Board highlights the increasing relevance of Muslim-friendly travel within the broader tourism landscape. With the expected number of international Muslim arrivals in 2030 reaching about 14% of all international arrivals, Muslim-friendly travel has become a significant growth area across destinations.
CrescentRating’s election signals trust in the company’s evidence-based approach and its long-standing work with destinations, hospitality providers, and tourism authorities to improve readiness for Muslim travelers.
Beyond recognition, board participation provides CrescentRating with an opportunity to contribute its insights to wider industry discussions, ensuring that inclusion, faith-based travel considerations, and emerging traveler segments are addressed with clarity, structure, and credibility at a strategic level.
With Muslim-friendly travel continuing to emerge as a significant global growth area, CrescentRating views its role on the PATA Board as a responsibility to contribute constructively to industry progress. This includes supporting informed decision-making, encouraging inclusive destination development, and strengthening alignment between market needs and long-term tourism strategies.
In April 2025, the company had the opportunity to launch the Mastercard-CrescentRating Halal Travel Trends 2025 report with PATA at the Annual Summit in Istanbul. Looking ahead, with the company’s election as a board member, more insightful collaborations can be expected.
Through cooperation with fellow board members and industry stakeholders, CrescentRating aims to support a resilient and future-ready tourism sector, while reinforcing the importance of serving Muslim travelers as an integral part of the global travel ecosystem.
